You can use filters in the configuration options to restrict the type of data visibility in reports. The view layer helps define your Google Analytics goals.


Goals are useful ways to track your website's conversions or business goals. What is called a goal the number of users who have subscribed to the email newsletter or how many have purchased the product. Once Google Analytics has collected and processed your settings, accounts, properties, and view information, you can no longer change it. By clicking the Administrator option, you can set user permissions for user management, collaboration, or read and analysis.


How to configure Google Analytics?


Create a Google Analytics account:

To configure it, we must first create a Google Analytics account. Go to google.com/analytics and click start for free.

Then log in with a Google account. You will need to create a new account if you don't have one. Once you are logged in, click Set up for free.

There you can add the account name and leave the recommended options checked.

Then choose whether you want to measure a website, an app, or both.

Click Next, then enter your website name and URL. Select an industry category from the drop-down list. Select your time zone so that the reports are linked to your local time, then click Create.

Accept the terms for your country or region. And your Google Analytics account will be created. As easy as that.

Install the tracking code:

Depending on the type of your website, there are different ways to install this tracking code.


The tracking code should appear automatically after creating the Google Analytics account.

Just click on the Admin tab in the lower left corner, then click on Tracking Information, then Tracking Code. You will then be directed to the page to install them on your website.

If you are using a Wix, Weebly, or any other website builder, you can simply copy and paste this tracking ID into your website admin area.

For example, to add the tracking ID to a Wix website, click Marketing Connections, then click Connect to Google Analytics. Include your tracking ID. This process is also similar to other website builders.

If you coded your own website instead of inserting the tracking id. Just copy and paste the little code under "Global Site Tag" and paste it right after the opening header tag on each page of your website.

Confirm that it works:

Open an incognito window in your browser and enter the website domain.

Go back to the normal browser window and refresh the page in Google Analytics.

There you should see that there is an active user on your website.

This means that Google Analytics is configured correctly because the visit you have opened will be shown in the incognito window.

After 24 hours, your reports will be completed. For example, when you click on Google Analytics Home, you can see the number of visitors to the website, the means by which they approach your website, geographic statistics, etc.
